For the spouse of someone enlisted in the military, it can be difficult to juggle the responsibilities of a household, finances, and children while their partner is away for active duty. With such a busy schedule, pursuing higher education goals can seem like yet another struggle for military spouses.
Bryant & Stratton College Online wants to change that. Along with academic online programs, they hold live webinars on a variety of career and online learning topics. One such upcoming webinar is specially tailored for military spouses seeking to earn degrees. Speakers include Allison Perkins, a military spouse herself, and Rebecca Keolanui, a licensed marriage therapist and military and family life consultant at Fort Shafter in Honolulu, HI. Their webinar, entitled “Your Back to School Battleplan: How to Ace Your Classes and Fight Off Stress,” will provide information and resources on how to organize and balance school with other responsibilities as well as handling stress.
“The push/pull between work, family and school is ever present for many adults, but it can be especially profound for military spouses,” said Scott Traylor, Bryant & Stratton College’s Associate Campus Director for Online Education.
Bryant & Stratton College also created SalutetoSpouses.com, a website centered on educational and career resources for military spouses. Speaker Allison Perkins serves as the editor. In addition, eligible military spouses of active personnel can apply to a scholarship program that credits $6,000 toward a Bryant & Stratton College Online degree. Those already enrolled at the school have access to a student veterans group for study sessions, advice, or even encouragement.
Their webinar will take place on Wednesday, September 14th from 12 PM – 1 PM EDT. Register here.
